Sprouts to open Clovis store Feb. 17

Business Journal – February 4, 2016

Sprouts Farmers Market will host a grand opening for its new Clovis store on Feb. 17.

The event will kick off at 7 a.m. and feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, store tours, free food and special deals. The first 200 shoppers in line will receive 20 percent off their initial purchase and every 15th shopper in the checkout lines will receive a coupon book.

One dollar deals will also be offered throughout the 28,000-square-foot store and every customer will receive a free reusable bag with their purchase.

Sales and deals will resume that weekend, with the first 200 customers making a purchase on Saturday, Feb. 20 receiving a coupon booklet for five free sandwiches.

On Sunday, Feb. 21, every 15th customer will receive a $5 coupon for purchase of more than $15 the following week.

Throughout the grand opening week, Sprouts will also donate all unsold and edible, but non marketable, groceries to the Community Food Bank. The donation is part of Sprouts local Food Rescue Program allowing relief agencies to pick up excess or damaged fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste.

In 2015, Sprouts stores distributed approximately 12 million pounds of product to those in need through the program.

Located at 850 Herndon Ave. in the Trading Post Shopping Center, the new Clovis site is the company’s second store in the area and has helped create 100 new jobs. Sprouts opened a store in north Fresno, near River Park, in 2013.

Headquartered in Phoenix, Sprouts is a healthy grocery store offering fresh, natural and organic foods.
